My paintings don't usually involve symbolism or metaphors; however, it's hard not to come up with some sort of deeper meaning behind this painting.
It goes without saying that I love nature. But that doesn't mean that I don't fear it in any way. The deep ocean has always been intriguing, yet daunting to me. I would never go to great ocean depths in any manner- not in a submarine, not scuba diving... My anxiety would consume all of my oxygen. Nevertheless, that doesn't inhibit my profound appreciation for the creatures who live there. And it doesn't stop my imagination from marveling at the idea of being able to experience their world with them.
