Eruption

$1,000.00

48×36×1” acrylic on canvas. One of a three piece collection: The butterfly series.

I chose yellow, pink, and orange for the background colors simply because it is my favorite color combination. I used the brightly contrasting neon blue to create the foreground because I love the intensity and how it pops.

Despite destruction and chaos, fragile as they are, butterflies exist

Butterflies are a part of the same world where destruction regularly occurs unreservedly. And if you watch butterflies, or bees, or any tiny, seemingly insignificant creature, they seem to carry on obliviously fulfilling their purpose, unaware or unconcerned about the reality surrounding them. They simply live and let live. We are all vulnerable, susceptible to realities we really can't control, but the most vulnerable have a special place in my heart.

I hope that this painting inspires feelings of hope that, like the butterfly, we too can persist dutifully, despite the chaos. We can live and let live. I hope it also serves as a reminder that beauty exists despite destruction. Beauty and life carry on.

Disclaimer: This painting does have small hairs in it and has been marked down as a result. However, the hairs can only be seen upon really close inspection and does not take away from the view at all when viewed from a “normal” distance (approximately 8ft away), but even up close (~3ft) they can’t be seen. In fact, you have to get within inches to see them. I have since learned how to prevent this in the future so the “Brew (my dog) hair” that is in this one will be its proof that it is one of the original pieces.
